Do you ever have days where happiness eludes you and you just think “what’s the point?”
You’ve been there. I know you have. Me too. Why is happiness and fulfillment so hard….?
Group hug anyone?
What if you could uncover the secret to happiness and fulfilment and discover how to find your purpose? You can!
So how do you lift yourself up and keep moving forward when things get too much? The answer to happiness and fulfillment is to find your why.
Why, What, How, When, Where, you ask? No. Just Why?
Your Why is what matters to you more than anything. It’s why you do what you do. And I don’t mean to sell more product, get another customer, make money, or get a promotion.
Those things are just a result.
Your Why is your purpose. Why do you get out of bed every morning? What change are you trying to make in this world?
Your Why is something that would still be there driving you, even if you had to keep doing what you’re doing for no reward, no money.
Your Why is the reason you were put on this earth. It’s that gut wrenching, soul expanding, heart exploding, all consuming purpose.
If you took away the hurdle of time or money, what would you do with your life?
When you’re in a casket (hopefully a long time from now!), what would your friends and family say about you and your contribution to this life? Now what would you really like them to say about you?
When you find your true purpose, everything is so much easier! Happier! There will still be challenges but getting over them will be effortless. Happiness and fulfilment is at your fingertips when you have a reason to keep pushing forward. Your goals and dreams are in reach.
You’ll finally have the perfect answer to that question above!
So what’s your Why?
Ok so I’m pretty sure I have to say my why is my kids right??? Lol. Of course they are…BUT let’s skip to answer #2. It’s to help people. Which is CRAZY because I kind of always thought of myself as pretty selfish. Funny eh? But I love promoting what I love and I love when I can help someone with THEIR business. It’s awesome. So that is what gets me fired up. Helping women realize they don’t have to just let the days pass dealing with kids and then watching reruns on HGTV….THEY can get fired up again too 🙂
I love that Emily! And yes of course every parent is going to say their kids and if that’s what drives you then that’s what’s important to focus on. You can definitely have more than one why. HOW exactly do you help people with their business? What difference are you making to those people? Are you helping them make more money or are you actually helping them help more people? It’s a chain reaction I think! Business in general is about helping people and solving their problems. Let’s keep spreading the love!! 🙂
Absolutely! When there’s a sense of purpose and directions things are just so much… happier! When the sun is too bright outside I’ll cover my eyes and say something along the lines of “my future is just so darn bright!”. Melts my sister with embarrassment every time but I feel like it’s true when you have some idea of what you want that future to be.
That’s amazing!! Your future is what you make it and having a clear purpose for what you do helps you keep moving in the right direction.
Great article thanks…gets really to the core of what is important. Thank you for the advice!
Thank you Jeni my pleasure. So glad to hear you found it helpful 🙂
My WHY is to glorify God through my life. Our human hearts are created to large for this world, and nothing in this world can satisfy that hunger and emptiness except for God 🙂
Wonderful that you have found your purpose and can work towards something meaningful to you 🙂
So true, my why is my purpose!
My why is my family, people I love.
I’m happy if I feel positive and good about myself and I can love them better!
That’s fantastic! Family is so important 🙂
I was lucky enough to find something I was passionate about early. I do what I do because I want to share it! My family is the firm foundation I stand on so I can continue to reach for the stars!
That’s fantastic to hear Chris! You’re one of the fortunate ones to find your passion early on 🙂
This is thought provoking post. I agree, my why are my purpose. These are the things that matter hence we give it so much thought.
I’m pleased to hear it was thought provoking for you 🙂 I hope you can uncover that important purpose and WHY behind what you do. All the best xx
This is Awesome, family comes first.
Thankyou Sushmita! Yes for most people I imagine family is a big part of their WHY.
Love this post! It’s so true, we need to keep you why in sight! Otherwise, the journey can become so difficult.
It certainly can Stephanie! We all have ups and downs of course, but the hard times can be made easier if we know our WHY.
Really reading your sharing here. Nice one! Yes,let’s be happy as always 😉 cheers, SiennyLovesDrawing
Thank you Sienny! Thanks for your comments.
I guess we all are motivated by the fact that we like to think that we make a positive difference in the world – or at least those close to us. What would be the point of doing anything otherwise? We all need to feel needed and that we are fulfilling some worthwhile purpose in the process. You certainly make a good point and something worth thinking about to keep us going, to give us purpose as we strive for happiness.
Great insights Nicole! Many people don’t get to experience making that difference because they don’t really know what they have to give which is sad because you’re right, we all have something to give. Let’s hope this message helps others to find their purpose 🙂
So true – all of it. If there weren’t the obstacles security and money I would definitely be doing something else. I find myself often pondering about what if when…Who knows, maybe I will change things up and follow my dream!
Oh you absolutely should Chrissy! Start with one thing. There are many ways to work your way towards finding your passion and your purpose and building your life around doing more of what you love. Just find 15 minutes a week to invest in what you love, share your message, teach someone about it, do one small thing. But definitely start! Please come back and tell me about it. All the best xx
Love this. My why is obviously my children and I would love to spread more autism awareness so that the future is easier for them!
What a great WHY to have, to be able to share your experience and your passion with others. That’s so powerful. All the best sharing your message Jenni x
This is a really thought provoking post. My WHY is my work with women who are struggling. I love being a life coach. I get to help people every day and that is what makes me happy.
That’s fantastic Jackie! So pleased to hear that and I’m sure the women you work with feel that from you. Keep doing amazing things!
I enjoyed reading this post so much! such an interesting article, thank you so much for sharing those advices!
Thankyou MaryAnne, really appreciate that. So glad to hear you enjoyed it 🙂
Such a great post. I don’t think I have an answer for what my why is. I am hoping I can figure that out soon! It truly is a very hard question to ask yourself.
Thank you for sharing Amanda. There are several great questions you can ask yourself. I would encourage you to keep asking those questions about what gives you purpose and what inspires you to do what you do. when you find that, it’s a life changing moment!
This is so inspiring! What I have learned through the years is that happiness is a choice! You can’t rely on others or things to make you happy, you need to decide what truly gives your life meaning!
Absolutely Mae! Your happiness truly comes from within. Thanks so much for your insights.
I know what a portion of my why is like my children, etc., but there are other aspects of my life where I know I need to figure out my purpose. Then I need to find ways to pursue the things I find important and that will help me to fulfill my why/purpose more heavily.
Great to hear you’re trying to find that purpose Nicole! One way to help is to think about what legacy you want to leave behind? How would you like people to remember you? What would you like them to say you helped them with and who would be saying it? All the best x
Great article Lisa. Thanks for sharing.
I feel similar to Emily. My main WHY is definitely my family, especially my boy. But I do have another WHY as well which is: helping people. I know that for me to be able to help more people and spend more time with those that matter the most to me, I need to build a sustainable business that serves the world and allows my family to be financially free so we can all give our time to those things that will help create a better world: volunteering, helping others, etc…
In a small scale I want to help other women (especially mums) to shine and create a business they love and that serves the world. And in a bigger scale I want to leave a legacy by encouraging people and businesses to work together, to collaborate. I am convinced that if we work together rather than alone, we can achieve much more.
Thanks again for sharing this article Lisa. Love it !
Thank so much Beatriz. I can relate – it’s easy to identify family and children as part of your why but I encourage you to think about this in even more detail – what exactly are you hoping to achieve for your family? What would you love to teach your son? What values do you want to pass on? What type of man would you like to teach him to be? These kinds of questions help you get even more specific about what you want to create in your life and your business and will help you focus in on your purpose. Keep striving for amazing things xx
