Mistake 13 — You asked the wrong types of questions

Today we’re still on the theme of listening more and talking less. Great questions really are the key to successful sales.

You’ve hopefully started your questions catalogue from yesterday. You need to have a large catalogue of questions because what is a great question for one customer, isn’t the right question for another. Don’t get disheartened if you find you’re still not hitting the mark. Mindful practice is they key.

Today’s challenge is to reflect on each buying conversation over the next few weeks.

After every sales interaction, take time to assess how the conversation went, what worked, what didn’t work, what you could have done better and which questions were appropriate for the situation. Formulate better questions for next time and add them to your catalogue.

The more you practice and reflect, the better you will get at reading the situation in the moment and finding the right questions for each customer.
